In this series of videos, I appropriated various historical filmic versions of key scenes from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and then superimposed them into composite form, making a sort of hyper-version of the key scene. Each video starts with a single line from the key scene being uttered at the same time, and then unspools from there.
This video series was part of a 2016 solo show entitled “I am Yorick,” which used Hamlet as an inspiration for a body of work that explored the nature of time and mortality.
